BFF Challenge 4 - Book Covers

Well, another Saturday, another challenge.

This one was to be inspired by a book cover. I had all these fancy ideas of what I wanted to do, but then I got carried away wanting to do a ruffle manicure as I have seen so many of them recently and never tried one myself. So, I decided to make the theme fit the manicure :) Is that cheating?

So here is my version of  '50 shades of grey' Although it actually is five (shhhhh)

For this manicure I have used....

Essence Colour and Go - Got a Secret
Revlon - Silver Screen
Revlon - Black with Envy
Accessorize - Metallized - Lolita
Milani - One Coat Glitter - Silver Dazzle.

To make up for the ruffles I did polka dots on my right hand which make their premiere on my blog!

MSE Nail Art Challenge - Week 3 - Green - Just Spotted a Turtle

So, for week three I am bringing out the big guns and just *had to* use my OPI Just Spotted a Lizard. But, to make it more interesting I have stamped it with a bit of a turtle shell pattern. I am quite impressed with the results, although once it was on Just Spotted a Lizard looked alot more gold than green on me. For the stamps I used Emerald City, a Matte from Revlon.

MSE Nail Art Challenge - 1st Week - Red Nails

Buoyed up with enthusiasm a few of us girls from the MSE nail polish addicts thread ( http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3779621) decided to do our own little challenge. So, we are taking the 31 day challenge a little more leisurely at 1 challenge a week.

This week is red, so to do something different I decided to have a half shiny, half matte finish.

I started with a wonderful coat of Revlon Cherry Crush as it is such a rich red, then taped the middle of my fingers using french manicure stickers. Then, I painted everything below the line with Rimmell Matte finish. I am quite pleased with the result, but think it would have looked even better with a colour which showed the difference more. Maybe on top of a neon?

What do you think?
