Saturday Skittles for Breast Cancer Awareness

After yesterday I decided I should go back to my intentions for October today with another pink manicure for Breast Cancer Awareness.

So today is a skittle event with a slightly different shade of pink on each nail. The colours I have used are...

This was a real change to yesterdays stark stamping, and I like it. Makes me feel all gooey and happy having pink on my nails. They should give this out on prescription, its way cheaper than some of the stuff they have to give out.

Also, my first time using a MissGuided polish and it was very nice. Took three coats to cover the visible nail line, but it went on like a dream and was a lovely shade.

New Beginnings

After yesterday being suitably sombre I decided that today should represent new life, and what better new life than flowers.

I lurve daisys, they are just so pretty and beautiful and simple, so here they are adorning my nails. Must admit this mani got quite a few compliments as I went about my day and I would love to do it again.

I used China Glaza Kiwi Cool Ada as the base, with the middle dot being made from Barry M 134 Yellow and the white dots using Rimmel French Tip White.

Don't forget, we have the Pinktober challenge coming up for Breast Cancer. Can't wait to have a whole month of pink. Its like I have landed in heaven.

Rainbow Nails

I was supposed to post these blogs weeks ago for the MSE - now NPAA challenge. But, unfortunately life got ahead of me and I had to focus on other things. But these darlings deserve an airing.

It is a water marble I did onto plastic again, and used lots of different brands. I think it looks adorable.

MSE Challenge - Gradient

I am running a week out of kilter, and I have made the preparations for my rainbow, but I won't be able to complete it until this afternoon. So, I decided to get my diddle on with the gradient.

Now, if you have viewed my blog in the past you will know how successful my gradients are and that they are something I just adore doing - NOT. ( this is the last effort http://nailpron.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/31-day-challenge-10-gradient-fail.html ) but I decided to take on all the suggestions I have received and went for a darker second colour to try and emphasise the gradient. I also was a bit more brave with the dabbing and used a sponge with a bit of a more open texture. Well, you ladies are damn amazing as it only bloomin worked.

Admittedly, this still isn't as sleek as I would like it looking, but I feel it is a massive improvement on last time and I may even try another without having to!

Oh, I am still recording this as the MSE Challenge, but we had to move from MSE as we weren't welcome anymore. We have moved to a new forum at http://npaa.forumotion.co.uk/ . We discuss nails and stuff and everyone is welcome, so please come along.

31 Day Nail Challenge - Galaxies

For me, there were two ways that I could address this one. Firstly thinking about the chocolate bars, or secondly about the universe. As I had already done something this week with brown varnish I decided to go along the universe route.

I have a base of the deepest, darkest blue, Rimmel Blue Vogue as a base and then uneven, erratic bits of Kiko Translucent White Glitter and Essence Disco Disco. I think the effect is quite nice, and different for me as it is usually all about straight edges and neat lines.

You know I said that I was going to use my stash before Christmas, well I decided the challenge wasn't hard enough so I would just make it a little harder. So I have added 7 to my stash. I know, I know, I am a mental. But it made me happy, so hey!

First for what I have used...

I have gone for a pink out for today so had a pink base coat with Rimmel Urban Princess and to make it nice and sparkly I have gone for a flash of OPI Nothin Mousie Bout it on three fingers. Tis the very first time I have even opened the bottle on the OPI and I am really pleased with it. Although I couldn't get enough hearts out to make me happy!

So onto the newbies.

I visited the lovely TK Maxx at lunchtime to buy a dog bed, which I achieved. But I also spied three Orly's for £7.99. I don't own any Orlys so I decided to snaffle them while I could. The colours are Androgynie on the left, Lucky Duck in the middle and Ma Cherie on the right. The photo is a bit blurry, but it was the only way I could get the holographic flecks in Androgynie to show up.

 

Then I received my lovely A-Englands from the latest offer. They are Percival on the left, Lancelot next, then Tristam and last but not least Lady of the Lake. Can't wait to be using these babies.

 

Then finally, I had a delivery from Paris. I don't even know when I am going to use this, but so chuffed to have it.

 

BFF Nail Polish Challenge - Day 2 - Girlie

After the past option I was quite happy to go for this one, although I have spent all day thinking about what to do because there is so much darn choice.

So, I have decided to go with pink, and a side portion of pink. Just to ensure the girlie factor is 100%, and to make it just a little bit more obvious I have added a flower stamp. Yeah.

BFF Polish Challenge - Challenge 1 - Cartoon Nails

After loving the MSE and the Polishaholics challenge so much I jumped straight in when the call went out to have an eight week challenge with some of the girls there. It was decided that we would have two challenges a week, and each of the eight members have picked two themes.

Our first theme is cartoons which is a difficult one for me because I haven't watched a cartoon in about 20 years and never ever do nail art like this. I decided my theme would be something I knew and went for Minnie Mouse because she was even around when I was a girl!

The colours I have used are Essie - Tiny Wine-ey, NYC City Blackout, Rimmel Nail Tip Whitener and Hits Speciallita Powder Puff Girls Doce de leite.

I am quite impressed with the end result, ( other than my pointer which looks naff). So without further ado here are the pictures so you can make your own minds up!
